Windy Sunday Afternoon

After all the wind and rain the last two days it's nice to see the sun again. It's still chilly (and windy still) for South Carolina, but at least the sun's out.

My neighbor across the street is a special ed teacher at a local high school, and she and her students have been making the cutest wooden block snowmen to sell to raise funds for their various school field trips this year. I put in an order for two. At $5 each you can go wrong, and it helps the kids raise money. We spoke on the phone this morning and I offered to help her sand the bare wooden blocks to prep for painting, but she said her grandson had just arrived to help.

After I picked up my Walmart grocery order (then ran to Publix to get what Walmart was out of) this morning, and put said groceries away, I ran the floor sweeper around a little bit, and decided that was my cleaning effort for the day. I'll clean the litter box in a bit. Maybe do a little laundry and dishes. Damn. 

In the grocery order I got the ingredients to make Ina Garten's savory palmiers. They looked really good when she made them on the show. I'll post the results when I make them either later today or tomorrow.

Ed's been out working in his warehouse/garage/man cave and needs to change the brakes on his work truck. I think he's feeling about as ambitious as I am, because I just heard him come inside and put NASCAR on the living room TV.
