A Cool Family Find: A WWII-era Letter

My “other” blog is on WordPress.  This blog post is about a letter recently found written in 1944 by my uncle Bernard Baker to his younger brother, my uncle Gerard Baker. “Barney” was aboard the USS Princeton at the time he wrote this letter in August of 1944. Just 82 days later the USS Princeton would be lost in battle. My uncle survived the battle, but not before spending a long time bobbing around in the ocean awaiting rescue, but that story will be in a future blog post.
